Not at all. The reserve hosts hunting and non-hunting guests in separate camps. Eco-tourism guests enjoy game drives, walks, bush dinners and quiet days at the lodge — without ever crossing paths with hunting activity.

Yes. The reserve is certified malaria-free year-round, with no prophylactics required. Children are welcome on game drives, bush walks (age-appropriate) and around the lodges, always supervised by a guide or family.

Always. Every drive is led by a FGASA-qualified field guide on an open 4×4. We never run more than two vehicles in the field at a time — your sighting is yours.

Yes. Two-hour escorted bush walks with an armed FGASA-qualified ranger — tracking, plants, geology and the small things you miss from a vehicle.

May to September is dry and cool — excellent game viewing as animals concentrate around water. October to April is green-season: lush Bushveld, newborn game and exceptional birding.

Lodge accommodation, three meals a day, soft drinks, tea and coffee, two daily activities (game drive or bush walk), and laundry. Premium spirits and transfers are quoted separately.

It's a 3.5-hour drive (≈350 km) from OR Tambo International via Thabazimbi to Steenbokpan. Private transfers and charter flights to a nearby airstrip are easily arranged.
