African Hunting Safaris

Cape buffalo & plains game in the Limpopo Valley.

Marula Game has hosted African hunting safaris in South Africa's Limpopo Valley since 1997. 24,700 acres of malaria-free Bushveld twenty kilometres south of the Botswana border (plus a 12,000-hectare Kalahari property), free-roaming herds of Cape buffalo, plains game, and leopard on annual quota.

Every safari is personally hosted by owner and outfitter Chris Burger — PHASA Executive Committee member, WRSA Game Farmer & Game Breeder of the Year — with PHASA-registered professional hunters guiding in the field. Fair-chase, walk-and-stalk, strict quotas. No canned or put-and-take hunts.

Species on the reserve

  • Cape buffalo
  • Leopard (on quota)
  • Greater kudu, sable, roan
  • Eland, gemsbok, nyala
  • Waterbuck, tsessebe, blesbok
  • Impala, warthog, zebra

Why hunters return

Malaria-free, three-hour drive from Johannesburg, six hand-built lodges, three meals a day, twice-daily activities for non-hunting partners, and the same family at the helm for nearly three decades.
